Sometimes wisdom is writing a whole snarky post and then immediately deleting it instead of posting it.

As an undergrad, I once wrote two reviews of a book. The second was a well-considered discussion of its material and its difficulties. The second was a thousand pages of questioning whether the (British) author had every encountered the English language, or been told of the word "grammar".
