Every few months we get another article where it's reported John Roberts doesn't understand why everyone is mad at him for ruling that it's okay for oil companies to strangle bald eagles, like he has no choice but to follow the law, when in every case they're throwing out 80 years of precedent.

Increasingly suspect the reason there exists The Bad Dynamic where NYC and LA leftists are unable to understand national R to D vote math and coalition politics is that in their local political markets there are advantages to D base mobilization and intra coalition spoiler tactics.

revealing accidental admission that opposition to immigration is a proxy for very wealthy people who hate being taxed to pay for the welfare state to link that unpopular belief to more popular beliefs

Vivek says “Shut down the entitlement state & you solve most of the immigration problem right there. We need to man up & fix the root cause that draws migrants here in the first place: the welfare state. But no one seems to want to say that part out loud, because too many native-born Americans are addicted to it themselves.”

Elon Qts “What Vivek says is, of course, true.

The “social safety net” of state & federal government payments is a powerful magnet for anyone living below that standard (over 5 billion people) to move to the United States.

Couple that with open borders and obviously vast numbers of people will move here. It would be absurd to expect any other outcome.”

It's funny that faux-leftist NIMBYs will fight for the right of homeless to sleep in cars, subways, tents or anywhere really - with the sole exception of SRO because "they deserve better than SROs".
