Yesterday I finished this crocheted coral, and today I finished this crocheted Mosasaur. Coral is hyperbolic crochet, Mosasaur pattern is by Jennifer Starbird/Starbird Creations. Mosasaur is 2 strands fingering together, coral is mostly single strand fingering + some sport. š¦
Thank you!
They were right to do so. I also spent a fair amount of time out on the lake. At that time water levels were down, and erosion wasnāt as bad, but it never stops. From the water you can see how dangerous areas are that look ok from above. 4/?
I grew up along Lake Michigan, in a time when water levels were high, and houses going over bluffs was not uncommon. Iāve seen almost half a house hanging over empty space. My parents drummed into me *hard* how dangerous the bluff edges could be, and how you wouldnāt know they were under-cut. 3/?
brought in since the previous picture was taken. It looks to me like the river continued to erode the bank, causing further collapse. In this picture you can see pavement hanging over nothing. That is a real danger with erosion, even without pavement in the mix. 2/?
Dracos and I this picture is the same stretch of I-40 in N. Carolina I posted about yesterday. The section of Jersey Bounce coming up from the lower-left corner and stopping at the hole is what was between east- and west-bound lanes. The run on the right-hand side is temporary, 1/?
Very glad!
But we could see storms and floods would be getting worse. We could see it happening. And droughts, and other extreme weather events - but water and flooding are what I know. And finally, I think Iāve careened all over the place in this thread, sorry about the chaos of it. /end
A couple or 3 decades went by, rainfall standards and computer models evolved, and a new Des Plaines study was done. And yāknow what it looked like? A hell of a lot like Bobās, is what. You may not like floodplain maps and regulations, and I get it, and donāt always disagree. 7/
