One critical thing I have noticed recently that I have absolutely inherited from my father is a knowledge of a wide variety of idioms but absolutely no idea how to use any of them. He has the excuse of not being a native English speaker, I however don't.

Was recently informed I was using "Ana fil wadi wa anta fil wadi" incorrectly by an Egyptian friend. 😣
