Exactly. The question is how do you get home state Senators to get to know the people in their state that will be fantastic judges (vs. someone just good at schmoozing with politicians).

I’ve often wondered if inner voice is something that can be trained by reading. Like the more you read and hear others in first person, the more you start doing it yourself.

Well, there is definitely a commitment to wanting lawyers that actually do law rather than whatever it is those two do. I doubt the left would want to appoint someone playing Calvinball, even if it was in a better direction.

That’s not true at all in terms of design. We did a lot of work during this administration finding and supporting judicial candidates (along with other orgs like Demand Justice, etc.) Especially in red states where the progressive bench wasn’t that well known. Funded though, absolutely.

There is FedSoc the debate club and then inner FedSoc which is the grooming network for the next generation of judges. ACS doesn’t have the latter, in general because they prefer talent to naturally rise to the top. I’m still involved in ACS and it also lacks the funding.
