every article like this is predicated on the assumption that when palestinian leaders speak about peace, they are lying so that when israelis let down their guard, they can stick the knife in
my general assumption is that on this front everyone is lying because everyone has specific interests in this situation that they know wouldn't play well if they said them aloud in certain forums. what's fucked is that Israel has no actual concept of what winning looks like outside of genocide.
