Income equality in car access: - In 2019/20, more than one-third (37%) of UK households on the lowest incomes (the bottom quintile) did not have access to a car. - This was 4.5 times higher than the 8.3% of households on the highest incomes (the top quintile) that did not have car access.

London has by far the lowest overall level of car access and far fewer households with access to multiple cars. Meanwhile in the South East, car owning households are more likely to have two or more cars than one.
