Three things that influence car purchase decisions: - Utilitarian factors - Image and status factors - Environmental factors This is noteworthy: “car owners tended to be habitual when it came to the types of vehicle that they purchased”
A poll of AA members found: “96% of respondents indicated that losing their car would negatively impact their lifestyle. Of those, 57% said that without a car they would struggle to leave their local area.” That is what car dependency (real or perceived) looks like.
Disappointed their evidence review didn't include our paper on this very topic!
