Marston was NOT subtle about what was going on in Wonder Woman, nor was he ever cagey about his intentions behind the representation of the character. Again, Marston in 1944: "It seemed to me, from a psychological angle, that the comics’ worst offense was their blood-curdling masculinity."

Marston's remedy was to combine the strength of superman with the "allure of a good and beautiful woman," and then give her a lasso to force her antagonists to submit. The man couldn't have been more unsubtle if he'd put his intentions up in neon lights.
