It almost bothers me more that the Greens are going along with some of the truly bad takes, such as the border control. It gives us (Germany) then no moral right to say anything against, say, Poland wanting to set aside rights for asylum seekers.
It's all the same old fascist lines for all the right wing extremists, unfortunately. Blame the migrants, those who aren't "American" or "German" enough, they are stealing our jobs/women. Mainstream German media is a lot better at calling the AfD not democratic, though.
Well at least some major newspaper is saying it. It's positively gaslighting, how much some news reports (looking at you, NYT) differ from what Trump is actually saying.
Also one of the major Berlin papers: www.tagesspiegel.de/internationa...
Bei einem Wahlkampfauftritt hetzt Donald Trump erneut gegen Migranten und verspricht, die USA âzu befreienâ. Zugleich will er ein Gesetz von 1798 zum Leben erwecken. Könnte er das?
I'm with you there. Reaching across the aisle has been tried and the hand slapped enough times.
Germany is covering it in one of its biggest papers: www.sueddeutsche.de/politik/us-w...
In Aurora in Colorado spricht Trump ĂŒber Abschiebungen im groĂen Stil und Todesstrafen fĂŒr Migranten. Die Demokratin Harris verspricht ein ĂŒberparteiliches Gremium.
seems like a big story that the former president's ex-chairman of the joint chief's of staff thinks he's a fascist www.independent.co.uk/news/world/a...
General Mark Milley expressed his concerns about Trump to author Bob Woodward in March 2023
I feel like this deserve more press and attention?
He *asked for nuclear options* twice during his Presidency. No, seriously. He did. The CHIEF OF STAFF had to OFF-THE-BOOKS call his Chinese counterpart to reassure him that he would NOT FOLLOW AN ORDER TO NUKE CHINA. And you think there's no difference. I have reason to doubt your judgement.
The book also revealed a previously unreported call between then-Vice President Mike Pence and former Vice President Dan Quayle.
Plenty of Chinese regional food still doing fine without them. Not the spicy ones though.
Same for my kid, who reads voraciously and writes his own. But mostly not regular books.
