I spent $17 on a halloween sweater yesterday (which i will wear anytime) and I'm trying not to catastrophize self blame for this out of that little splurge. But my brain is determined to go there.
Drove Boba Fiat in this morning and I'm now sitting in the cafeteria at campus, eating a yogurt while I wait for Kid2 to finish his exam. Doing panic math in my head while worrying about repair costs on the Tardis.
non-update: Since we've got most of the clowder done now, trapping is harder. The remaining candidates (Tammie and Orange and the two neighborhood toms) were not out this morning for food. Tomorrow the Mom Bus is busy all day, so it's going to be Wednesday before we can try again.

My mom has it happen so frequently in her 175 year old house that she has a set of bat catching equipment and gets rabies *boosters* pretty much annually. She knows the bat rescue folks by name.
This is why our indoor onlies are vaccinated for rabies. We live in an old house, the old house is drafty, and we use window ac units. Bats can get into holes the size of a sharpie barrel.
Bats can get in via window ac units, or through insufficiently blocked window gaps left when installing them. They also often come in via fireplace flues.
My kids are 18 and 21 now. I have gone back to work 3x, twice doing freelance work in very limited quantities, once in office when my spouse was available to care for them. There isn't much call for an old used up graphic artist anymore, now. And I'm still driving them to class.
I did that math and then my kid got diagnosed as autistic. Then I discovered we would be in the hole by 2k a month if i went back to work (at the best possible pay) because daycare for kids on the spectrum costs more than twice what normal daycare costs.
This reminds me that I've been known to remind my kids (both with sleep regulation issues) that they need to go to sleep so their brains can poop. Dreams are brain poop. Don't make your brain sit in poop all day.
