On 30 Sept 1937, under Norwegian Capt. John Olsen, the SS Taylor was en route from Buckie to Sunderland with a cargo of timber. The vessel capsized and foundered 8 miles southeast of Buchanness, Peterhead. Olsen survived the ordeal but the remaining 5 crewmen perished. #history

I am fortunate to have no damage but many have lost their homes and businesses. If you are able to donate even just a small amount for those in need, it would be a tremendous help. 100% of the funds go directly to relief efforts. Thank you. #hurricanehelenewww.directrelief.org/emergency/hu...

Interesting, this is from the morning of 14 Feb, roughly 18 hours prior to the crew abandoning the rig. The winds and seas were just starting to increase. The rig was still drilling at this time. They didn't shear off until late afternoon/early evening.

Yes, Viper did run aground but like the Cobra, she broke her back. The ships were long and narrow. Just bad design.
