Maybe a better way to say it would be faculty think "what can I do to make this place better and stay here?" and admins think "what thing can I get started here, leverage that thing for another job, and leave before we find out if that thing actually works?"
Admins have completely different reward systems. And not good ones. Faculty typically think "what can do to impress people here and keep this job?" Admins think "what can I do to impress people elsewhere and get a different job?"
WTF is up with Marsilea vestita's distribution in AR and LA? Is it really just following the Arkansas then Mississippi Rivers? Why isn't it restricted to rivers in other areas? Why isn't it found farther north along the Mississippi? Some sort of crazy collection bias? What am I missing?
