Shrewsbury Abbey. Founded in 1083 as a Benedictine monastery by Roger de Montgomery the abbey grew to be one of the most important & influential abbeys in England, & an important centre of pilgrimage. Although much of the Abbey was destroyed in the 16th century, the nave survives as a parish church.

St Michaelâs St Shrewsbury Okay me owd butties, any budding Cadfaels out there, does anyone know what has happened to this? We have very few remaining and this un was unique as it was the only one with a ramâs yed on It was there until at least September 20 but gone by March 21
