Thinking about video platforms like YT, IG and TikTok and whether it would be better for general discourse to disable commenting until a video has finished completely. Fast-forwarding to the end wouldn't work, 1.5x speed might. Commenting would be greyed out until you'd watched all the way through.

At least make it an option for video creators to use.

Think how many "yes, but what about...? -They already addressed this at 0:45, dude" comments we could be spared. And yes, this would mean these platforms would have to rethink their policy that more comments = visibility but I would view it as a good thing.
