Had that one. Was a time Warner did those horrendous flipper DVD's as well. 4:3 letterbox on one side, 16:9 version on the other side. They were prone to more scratches. ER discs were well known for that. Can't stand double sided dvd discs.

Laserdiscs were analogue and were more able to cope with a tiny scratch here and there. Digital media like dvd's just collapse usually.

I remember my DVD of ‘Starship Troopers’ being a flipper, which was kind of ridiculous given it’s not even a long film. Had several flippers in the early days - ‘The Shawshank Redemption’, ‘Michael Collins’, a couple others. Given that double layers were a thing from the start, no need for that.
