I had both my cameras on tripods so I could take 20-30 second exposures. As a bird photographer I normally keep my shutter speed really high, so long exposures are NOT my comfort zone! I was along a rural road, but still had to deal with traffic looking south 4/18

The aurora had faded into a soft north-horizon glow by about 8 PM (eastern time). To the naked eye it looked like light pollution to the north of me, but I've been staking out this location for days so I knew that the closest town (Medina Ohio) lights up the right side only 5/18
