i've lived in housing cooperatives (communes lite) for many years, and these people stick out like sore thumbs when they move in. some folks have to cultivate their people skills before they're ready to be part of communities.

The local scene always has 1-2 people who are saying a collective house is transphobic or racist or something Then you ask the collective and they reveal that the person was 4 months behind on bills and trashed the place weekly

after years of experience I firmly believe that there is no housing co-op that does not have people who are a little Off. it's just a question of whether they're hostile or petty, too
