I live south of lake street. I’m not detouring up to the greenway to reach a business on Lake or to get home from st paul.

That’s understandable. From St Paul, Marshall is your only option. But whenever I’m south of Lake, I find it a lot lower stress to ride on a parallel side street. I think it’s a design problem - if there’s a bus in the bus lane and a bike, it’s a bad situation for both.
