Lawrence O'Donnell: "I have never seen an industry slower at learning from its own stupid mistakes than the American news business." Scathing indictment of networks covering Trump's incoherent presser uncritically while ignoring Harris' speech.
Donald Trump rambled and lied for over an hour without any follow up questions or fact-checking. MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell says that while he hopes Vice President Harris answers questions from report...
Brain doc here. Today Trump showed textbook confabulation: symptom of his increasing cognitive impairment. "confabulation is a memory error consisting of..production of fabricated, distorted, or misinterpreted memories about oneself or the world..generally associated w/ brain damage or..dementias.."
I really like L O'D, but he's being generous about the media "learning from its mistakes". That is assuming that they are acting in good faith. We all know that they are not and haven't been for quite some time. 2016 should have laid that assumption to rest.
Pretty sure Lawrence knows the big media bosses don't think they made it are making any mistakes. Unfortunately, this is probably still the best framing
Ty! I was looking for this to post. Lawrence was really p**** off tonight (throwing paper) about the press & the hacks in the media (as are the rest of us). Maybe this will get their attention. cc @nytimes.com@washingtonpost.com
Don't worry. German press is as stupid as yours when it comes to the f*****g AfD. I can't watch the news anymore. I only get angry.
Thank you Lawrence!
They don't really want to "learn", I guess...
The worst part about all of this is that after the election, then starts the intense naval gazing about "Where did we go wrong?", "How should the media cover politics?!", "Oh, what is one to do??" (🤷♀️ Throws hands up in the air 🤷♀️)
i recall entire segments of corporate media broadcasting live video of trump’s limo idling at the curb breathlessly reporting that he could walk to it any minute.
