Hot tip for newer vtubers: hardly anyone calls themselves a "GFX" artist. Usually if someone uses that term it is a scam bot. I've never seen a real artist use that to describe what they do to clients, cause it's kind of business jargon. Usually people say what they sell to potential clients.

Yea you are right, I don't think I heard GFX till the spam bots came my way to draw. Like I am an artist, I just say I am a digital artist, or just artist, I don't even know what GFX stands for.

Also, look for artists who advertise their services in general, and have a publicly-visible portfolio and body of work! Most freelance artists have a portfolio/services webpage or at least a carrd with links to a gallery or a social media library.

I've been seeing a huge increase in scam bots in my streams so thank you for posting this. Also most genuine artists will promote their work on platforms such as twitter instead of random twitch streams, with correctly credited watermarks.

I don't even use a vtube setup and I still get incessant bots offering to 'draw animated intros' and shit like that Like if I was gonna use any animated intros, I'd use the cartoons we are constantly streaming lol

Also, be suspicious of anyone who just approaches you out of nowhere and wants to sell services. Legitimate artists don't have to do that. They advertise to the general public, not to you directly.

what does “GFX” even mean? graphic effects? I’ve never heard of that term before and would instantly be sus of anyone who uses it yeah, just be direct about what you’re offering to potential clients so people know if you got what they’re looking for! ✨
