A quick self-correction: Night Vale and Within the Wires have similar run times, but the 20-some minutes of the former seem to go by faster than the latter option. Both command my attention but in ways that either make me more or less aware of the passage of time. Seems fitting.
Semi-related: Iām not saying the less than four hours of sleep I got going into today wasnāt enough, but I had a chip in one hand and one of my AirPods in the other and I damn near ate an AirPod.
Along with getting back into Welcome to Night Vale Iāve decided to check out another podcast created by folks responsible for Night ValeāWithin the Wires. Similar sci-fi/darker comedy flavors in a longer format & leaning more into the bizarre (to its success). Only 1 ep in and enjoying it.

Some days parenting includes saying āfine, fuck itā and letting 6 watch these damn marble run videos on YouTube so I can get even 1/100 of the shit done that I need to accomplish. Today is such a day.
Returning to Welcome to Night Vale, starting back at the very beginning since itās been a few years, given the TTRPG on Backerkit. What a weird, wonderful podcast.
Me at 10pm last night was way more ambitious about what I could get done today than I presently am.
I hike trails near my house with almost daily frequency, and I am far less anxious about almost anything else as I am about when people flagrantly ignore leash laws and let their dogs just charge full-tilt at strangers. No, thanks. Iāll offer Fido up to the local fae before risking getting bitten.
Glad this didnāt have a more eventful outcome. Iāve had dogs most of my life and moments like this still stress me out because you never know what that interactionās going to be like
Okay, but thatās pretty damn funny. And thank you! Not likely until a week or so, but Iāll manage until then.
