Listening to students scared for family and friends and loved ones and loved spots across WNC and it feels so trivial to hold class when bodies are still being found across the state and our own small town is struggling with power restoration and folks still need food/water/wifi and lord

I keep listening to the radio out of Asheville and hearing a person calling in to locate folks and another calling back to say they just went and checked on them because they’re nearby and no they don’t know them but they’re okay—we do not need cops after disaster, we do need community radio

Thankful to make it past the worst of Helene with just a flooded basement and some dirty laundry airing
