It's ok to take breaks from worrying, even in the first week of October 2024. Decide what you can do & are willing to do to effect change, but there are plenty of people who are paid to worry.
I'm more hopeful in 2024 than I was when Bill Clinton & Al Gore were going on late night TV shows to talk about "government waste" in 1992.

2020? Try going back to 1960, 1980 or even 2000. There are living people who remember it all. Outside of elections, there isn't much normal people can do to make a difference. It's ok to take time off from being outraged. It's actually a good idea.
Vance won't break down & cry tears of repentance, but this will make him very, very angry. It's a bit risky because it will be played as Walz going after his family, but Vance is the one going after his own family.
This is close. Vance is a striver. He knows what he's doing is despicable, but he's willing to do whatever what it takes to get in line for the Presidency. I think Walz could flummox him by pointing it out & asking how he reconciles it with his family. There's a stark dissonance there.

Iirc, employers spread that over an entire workweek, so one busy shift allows lets them avoid paying more than the tipped minimum.
From what I can tell, servers in places that got rid of the tipped minimum wage haven't taken a huge pay cut. People have kept tipping. This mostly hurts restaurant & bar owners who want to be open when there might be only a dozen people in the place.
