I have been a teacher for 28 years (17 years as Headteacher) . For the first 20 years I never saw a child hit an adult in school. Now, as Exec HT & Head of Inclusion for my Trust, itās commonplace. And yet this crisis seems to have gone unnoticed by policymakers.
With the 4th Nov deadline for submission getting a bit too close for comfort, and no longer having long lazy summer holiday days to write the book, Iām having to crack on with the remaining chapters at weekends. This weekend was Ch8: Creating strong teams.

Very proud of the boy as he struck out on his own today moving into his Uni halls in Manchester. Plus, as he can hit the Uni building with a rock from his front door he should get to lectures on time.
ANOTHER Ex-Blackhorse pupil making it to the top tier in sport in the press this week! In a decade the school has produced numerous county and national level runners, as well as four who have broken through to reach professional or national youth teams (three in athletics and one in rugby).
Such a lovely gift from one our Y6ās who has just left: made from her old uniform and gifted to the school!

This is an absolutely excellent post about the role of headteacher in the MAT and current educational landscape. One of my drums to bang is the significance and impact of long-standing heads yet you can see too many doing the three-year cycle of roles. Definitely worth a read.
