I've been seeing a few people complain about accounts who very frequently repost, and I'm sure Portfolio Day is especially aggravating. But sharing IS the right thing to do especially as we're all rebuilding on a new site with no algorithm. So for those people, I dunno... Read a book or something.

Considering the type of posts that I used to get in my feed, from the place-that-shall-not-be-named, I am quite willing to have delightful art in this place.

My main problem is that many people either repost way too much, or they share things completely unrelated to what I followed them for. With reposts enabled, my feed becomes like 10% pixel art, despite following only pixel artists, I just dont want it to replace seeing art of the people I follow

Yeah, I don't really understand this mentality. If people never reshared my work, I would have never gotten anywhere when I made a fresh start! So I always try to pay it forward and share others' work. People can turn off reposts if it bothers them that much :/

Don't mind reposts in my feed. But whenever I open a profile with lots of reposts & have to scroll down multiple posts to find any post of this user, I can't make out who this person is & if I should follow them. Also, why did you decide to include the last sentence? Please play fair ✌️

I've literally had some people unfollow me because I reposted my own posts too much. 😅

I tend to have a repost motto like : i repost one or two art per day + i repost only art not recently posted or reposted, starting from the older art. I still have a couple of unfollow dues to reposting though 😅😅

The part that bugs me is like... They can super easily mute the hashtag if it bugs them... And then... Poof, gone!

Thanks for this. I repost often, partly because thoughtful and important observations deserve the lift, sometimes because the OP asks for reposts, and because it’s probably not going to be any more truthful or important just because I express it in a slightly different way.

BlueSky has them covered - you can click on a hashtag and mute it, if scrolling past the posts is that unbearable. I, on the other hand, love seeing some art in my feed.

I've found art I missed the first time it was posted. Repost and reblog away. How else are we to find each other?
