We're a 'help yourself' country in a slightly good and entirely bad way way at extremes. The wealthy help themselves to everything. The middle help themselves to what they have opportunities for. And the rest can't help themselves with zero opportunities for freedom;

that's somehow not the fault of the top and the middle helping themselves. It explains why both the bourgeoise and the wealthy are so hated. We engineer everything for our own comfort.
