Question as former TriMet (Portland) bus driver: how does the QR code work? You scan a QR code on the fare box and it send you to a pay page? Is that ridiculously slow? Or you have previously purchased credits in your Transit app and then you scan QR to deduct?

There is also free ridership using most school/university id's! I don't know how common that is in other cities.
