It's very symbolic. Used to be if you ignored a screen, attractive colors and light would be activate to avoid burn-in. Now if you passively attend a screen, it activates a static image guaranteed to cause burn-in if you are indeed ignoring it as it presumes.

Of course I'm pretty frustrated often as well, and as time passes I find even my alternative goals become harder to reach. But it's the journey and not the destination and y'know.

It's always a bad idea to compare your life to others, but I understand what you want. What I do is try & imagine what I can do to live around my limitations. The downside is that leads to making new goals, but looking for new solutions helps me appreciate my accomplishments & the skills I do have.

you can order waterproof laser printable paper and laser printable vinyl sheets on amazon. I'm pretty positive laser prints don't smudge when the printer's working right. If you want a more glossy finish I'd try coating it in UV curable resin.
