This is the correct response to have when first seeing this box, yes.
I will go to my grave defending the Gamecube button layout. Yes, it sucks for certain genres of games, but you'd never actually play those games on a Gamecube. For the type of games it is regularly used for -- Smash, 3D platformers, Zelda, RE4, etc. -- it's perfect
"... as long as you don't do drugs or engage in Communism"
TBH Box art aside, I've got a lot of respect for this release for sticking to the source material and not trying to reskin it into something like "American Jack's Totally Gender-Conforming Kung-Fu Adventure," which was the style at the time
Are people still doing "Random game from your collection on Saturday" posts? Doesn't matter, I'm just looking for an excuse to bless/curse your timeline with American box-art Ranma and Ryoga
EXACTLY. That was the whole point of the Saroo in the first place!
Yeah, point being I donāt see the point of these when thereās a multitude of options out there for playing Saturn games that donāt involve gutting original hardware
Yes, but the difference with those mods is that they're reversible and add functionality back. These are purely subtractive. If the appeal here is an authentic Saturn experience, why butcher authentic hardware? There's zero benefits here over just plugging the Saroo into a stock console.
God this shit sucks. This is the gaming equivalent of when house flipper influencers tear up antique hardwood to put in Walmart vinyl flooring. Congrats, you hacked up a limited piece of retro hardware to make... something less functional? Something a MiSTER/RetroPi could've been used for instead?
