Thursday night’s amazing aurora display over Poolbeg Lighthouse. My favourite image I’ve ever taken and best night of my life.
England & Wales are on course for their wettest first 9 months of the year since 1927, not counting the next 48 hours. It could actually be the wettest January to September since 1879 after that has been accounted for.
The recent heavy rainfalls in England reminded me of the exceptional rainfalls in Sep 1968. Both were blocked setups with southerly tracking slack-ish lows (1968 deeper). 100mm+ wasn’t uncommon in SE England with as much as 201mm falling in Tilbury. 129mm at Bromley on the 15th
Moonrise over Dún Laoghaire Lighthouse yesterday evening. It appeared nicely despite sunset being 16 minutes away. Hopefully a good sign for this evening which has it now starting 3 minutes prior to sunset.

Whilst the smoke vanished, yesterday was unfortunately too cloudy on the horizon for my Dún Laoghaire Lighthouse moonrise composition. I am always reminded just how perfect August 2022 was and not least because it had idyllic clear skies right in time for the full moon. Lined up with Muglins here.
But it’s not my followers I’m referring to. They’re one thing and I can live with that as they are who I follow, obviously I’ll get their posts. It’s the “For You” I’m talking about. I should be seeing Photography, Weather, Technology etc… not politics of any kind, if it was truly “For me”.
I’ve been getting bombarded with UK politics on there. I don’t even live there so why should I be getting that nonsense?
