The guy who told 30,000 documented lies in 4 years and lies the same way that most people breathe is put on the same playing field and made equivalent to an average (and very successful) politician.

If you would like to see how I arrived at these conclusions, I'd invite you to examine these: Part 1: threadreaderapp.com/thread/18235...threadreaderapp.com/thread/18236...threadreaderapp.com/thread/18243...threadreaderapp.com/thread/18251...

We have problems but the economy is objectively above average. The reasons for Trump's lead are: incessant branding, media framing, voters' inability to consider multiple macroeconomic indicators beyond inflation, and the unwillingness of many Dems to recognize positive economic statistics.

I hope you're having a good time in Ohio. We miss your work with the CFA. I'm doing all online classes this fall semester.

Very interesting, Kate. Do you think a lot of this has to do with your work with the CFA having the ability to affect people more positively and reach more people than a monograph? My own monograph was "my baby" (I don't have kids). A decent # read it so I was lucky but I take your point.

Thanks. I'll be okay. Just an open wound. I'll manage.

The perverse incentives of American politics are such that comments that are outrageous, immature, and hateful, rather than destroying one's career, instead yield power and influence. This is the age of Trump.
