Why are 'entrepreneurs' so fragile that the merest hint of something not going their way makes them flee the country, as if there were no reasons to stay e.g. access to a huge market, existing investment in infrastructure, the cost of laying off all staff. Unless they are bullshitting, of course.
There are those who are also asking to be taxed. That's just not as rage clickbaity as this story so they'd probably never run it. www.patrioticmillionaires.uk
The thing which always gets me about "If you make us pay our fair share of taxes we'll leave!" is that...if you're not paying your fair share of taxes, then what the hell do we need you for? Go. We're tired of carrying your useless deadweight.
There are lots of sensible reasons to reform CGT ... But why do super rich people trot out this argument every time, which is not going to get the public on their side and if anything will detract attention from sensible policies about CGT reform.
The Brewdog guy is an edgelord and his company is not a good employer. He shouldn't let the door hit his arse on the way out
My default answer to any business owner who says they'll move out of the UK if they don't get preferential treatment is always: "FUCK OFF THEN"
I also don’t understand why they aren’t ashamed to sound so greedy.
In about 2008 we took a group of startup folk to San Fran and came back 1 short after Google offered one of them a job and she shuttered her start up That was 1/12th of Edinburgh Tech Startups gone
If it gets rid of the dickheads that run Brewdog then I'm all for it.
Let them go - never give in to blackmail!
i find it odd that tax dodgers call themselves entrepreneurs and rest their escape plan on the fact that their target country will certainly speak good English. That isnt a thrilling/edgy prospect at all, almost like the threat is totally vacuous and only works if you talk loudly and slowly
