This is…actual genius
Like i get it and everything, but i would like to continue monetizing storytelling i just wish creators were more equal partners with the business
That's easy to say when you assume that everything is owned by a faceless mega-company like Disney, but it gets complicated when you consider that contemporary myths have artists behind them from whose work fan fiction creators profit, whether just in form of attention or even financially.
At the risk of ruining the punch line of the books I’m writing now, I think the answer lies in drawing a distinction between the characters and the stories. To whit; we must free our heroes, but keep copyright over individual works. DisneyCorp and I both know this; just ask Thor and Loki.
Holy shit I love this
It should forever be called Fan Fiction. I don't even want to go into what I picture in my mind when I hear the term Head Cannon. Smh
Yes! I've thought about this, and how storytelling has always spread from teller to teller, maybe changing with an embellishment here or there, but copyright put a craw in that. Fanfiction is the return of exactly that process!
Is Henry Jenkins related to LeRoy Jenkins?
