Any particular part of the empire? Answering for Britain: Osprey book series e.g. Roman Military Clothing are really good for clothing. Guy de la Bedoyere has written some great books on Roman buildings and towns. For art, try the British Museum book Roman Britain: Life at the Edge of Empire.
