Amid this completely made-up story about immigrants being so hungry that they're eating pets, we're missing one important thing. A presidential candidate and his supporters decided to stoke xenophobia instead of saying somebody should get these people something to eat.

What felt most like a slap to my face was that my being a trans woman precludes me from any calling involving children. Gender expression ≠ pedophilia.
Either way, it really feels like double speak when they talk about love and respect but then say we can’t be near kids.
I think some bishops will find justification to not give a trans person any calling, as there really are none that don’t involve children or a specific gender. Some will think they’re being very Christlike by “allowing” a trans person to be a librarian.
