I think some bishops will find justification to not give a trans person any calling, as there really are none that don’t involve children or a specific gender. Some will think they’re being very Christlike by “allowing” a trans person to be a librarian.

Either way, it really feels like double speak when they talk about love and respect but then say we can’t be near kids.

They could have a calling to ensure the building is locked up every night ... but they'd have to call someone else to help them and accompany them every night because there might be a youth activity finishing up. At which point it's not serving, it's creating a problem for someone else.
