If more people had read Cory Doctorow’s work about enshitification instead of flanderizing it, you would realize that competitive compatibility is an essential need of a digital society. Thats what this comes down to: corporations should be made unable to stop emulation.
We should simply say what we really want: reverse engineering should be a protected right, copyrights should be reduced to 7 years, and we should have a right to repair that includes the company providing repair documentation free.
