Even within the liberal framework the ostensible purpose of laws like copyright and patents is to promote creation for society's benefit. Those laws are almost exclusively discourage creation now. The cart is not only in front of the horse, it is driving in the opposite direction. Libs PLEASE.
We should simply say what we really want: reverse engineering should be a protected right, copyrights should be reduced to 7 years, and we should have a right to repair that includes the company providing repair documentation free.
