Knew about the gambling and racism, but missed the bigger point here before now
The annual budget of FEMA is about $30 billion. We should absolutely criticize what the US is doing in Israel, but conflating FEMA aid with foreign military spending isn't the way. There is a legitimate FEMA funding issue...because *Republicans* refuse to agree to a long-term funding deal.
people (on here) yelled at me about this when i said it before but a) you need traffic enforcement and b) speed cameras are vastly preferable to cops.

where's that one? the first things that come to mind are a tree growing in front of the sign, or (probably more likely for Jan.) being trimmed out from in front of the camera. (otoh, if that's the general/aggregate counter, it might be bc a whooole lot of new cameras came online over the winter.)
