This is an extremely specious argument - as if the claims of the powerless/dispossesed/etc on power structures can only go through those power structures themselves. If you don't believe the system is reformable, why would that be the benchmark of valid opposition?
Everyone who thinks Liberals are soft turns out to be worthless in a fight against Liberals. Gee, interesting how that turns out, and even more interesting that Socialists end up repeating the "Liberals are soft" idea the Fascists came up with. (I'm not allowed to notice that, I'm sure.)
I think it’s more helpful to say liberalism doesn’t meaningfully exist in American politics outside of some very local pockets - they’re all just market fundamentalists in the end
