Oh hey neat, it's Unlimited Carve Works.
Plot twist: I'm saying this to bluesky at large AND my own profile here!
Alt: patrick star from spongebob squarepants is standing in front of a giant whale that says who are you people
hello internalized trauma my old friend The rest of that line item isn't true, though, because who has time to sleep after the sorrow-fueled insomnia kicks in? Ha ha!!!!!!! skull and bones emoji
I don't think you'd have any reason to, unless you've heard @cidolatry.bsky.social rave about the quality of the restrooms at a particular Target on the drive to Vegas. That area is prime "affordable land but disgusting commute to work" territory, though I think even that may be an urban legend now.
hey dude, I noticed you attempting to carve a small space for joy in the face of overwhelming sadness. kind of problematic considering all the horrors
Y'know, maybe @cidolatry.bsky.social has a point about missing longform posting. Or maybe I just really love maps, human geography, and discussing the social and cultural comparisons between regions. Why not both! Why not everything!? Random bullshit GO!!! (throws ArcGIS at my keyboard)
One final note, I'm amused that this depicted LA very "legally" in that it didn't label areas not considered part of city limits, with maybe-unavoidable exceptions for Glendale and Burbank. Pasadena and Long Beach are conspicuously absent, and civilization (accurately) ends before Santa Clarita.
As an aside: another hastily-assembled overlay labeled the majority of Orange County as split between Rich and Poor NJ, which I would agree with; and it had the Hesperia/Victorville area up 15 as being half of PA, a thought which is going to haunt me for the rest of the evening (thanks, internet).
Los Feliz/Atwater is more accessible for that but also hipsters, so Brooklyn works. If there were a way to define a borough here without it being contiguous, I'd put Downtown LA in "Staten Island" too, but that's my own bias god, downtown sucked) and I know parts of it merit it being in "Brooklyn".
