Honestly I'd say there were none in 1989. Weak year. Bleach by Nirvana was probably the most significant.

Perfect is a matter of opinion, I guess. I like Bleach for sure. My favorite 1989 album would be XTC's Oranges and Lemons, and I also quite liked The Pixies' Doolittle, The Beastie Boys' Paul's Boutique, Elvis Costello's Spike, and The Blue Nile's Hats.
