hey, the battery I took out of a thing today has one of the powerchecks on it! And it's new! (Date on it: use by 2031.) I wonder if the UK kept them? I think they're a little useful because you can work out, when your thing with 4 batteries in dies, which ones are dead? Although they maybe all are.
A friend of mine works in battery tech and told me that prisoners (who trade disposable batteries) needed a way to tell if they were charged or not. So they came up with the clever solution of bouncing them. A full battery doesn't bounce as much. www.scientificamerican.com/article/boun...
