Oooh, I'm so jealous! Nice photos!
Super excited for the launch of #EuropaClipper today. Back in March I got to see a replica of an art piece mounted to the spacecraft's radiation vault, which shows the waveforms of "water" being spoken in 104 languages.
I'm not the person to do this, but I wonder if you could estimate the response of comet's surface activity during its approach to perihelion from looking at the photometric properties of the anti-tail across SOHO's FOV. It definitely looks like it gets less dense from top left to bottom right.
I was hoping to see Tsuchinshan-ATLAS's anti-tail during the orbital plane crossing this evening, but we've got an upper low parked over us so probably not happening. I'll just have to settle for the spectacular view of it in SOHO images this morning.
Comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS from Chicago last night. Fortunate to have gotten a brief break in the clouds to see it - I had canceled plans to do photography outside the city due to the forecast. Surprised how easy it was to see despite the glare from the streetlights!
