I guess my general advice today is that if you are a college professor not in Florida, you could still very well have students in your class who are. Consider those paper extensions please.

This is a very good point. Hotels charge people thousands of dollars to stay there in an emergency. For many people, there is just nowhere to go. We have seen this with previous hurricanes. We have seen the devastation and loss of human life.
