I wonder if the fact that Dem reticence to put their own successes on blast in plain language combined with the media's tendency to ignore policies that are working (bc boring!) is part of the problem here.

I think a lot of it is this. Media spent the last 3 years not just ignoring but actively shitting on a gangbusters economy and predicting a recession. Hard for Biden to get credit for something voters are constantly being told doesn't exist.

Not just Dem reticence, but also the media allowing Republicans to lie unchallenged about literally everything in the economy. It's hard to take credit for doing something good when so much media time is wasted on having to convince people that good things are even happening.

I think it’s mostly the media, because even when Dems are accomplishing big things AND talking about them, many major media outlets just ignore it. Like this year, when Biden was running around doing a lot of things, talking to lots of people, and headlines were just wall-to-wall “Biden Old!!” 🙃

100%. I think the biggest failure was not making sure every IRA didn't have a section in it that every project had to have "Brought to you by the Democratic-passed IRA" 20% larger font than anything else associated with it. Instead you had Repubs who voted against it taking credit.
