Following this they shut their forums and said they were going to make all their volunteers do background checks, kicking out all their municipal liaisons to reapply for their positions in February. It's now one month from nanowrimo and they haven't reappointed any municipal liaisons.

Which means that there's no local infrastructure for running events. And the forums are still shut so there's no online infrastructure either. They've just completely collapsed.
