For people who don't know. The reference ranges for E in non-pregnant cis women is up to 500pg/ml. In pregnant women... 30k pg/ml. Standard of care considers trans women treated at 100pg/ml. And too high at 200pg/ml. Trans men can target any T level in the cis male reference range.
unironically have to get my numbers up then, feeling pretty lousy at 75 right now
and this is why i skip a dose before getting bloodwork done
My first Endo had me at like 35pg/ml E and called it good because only low T would be important for trans women...... Totally ignored that I was sweating like crazy even when it was really cold outside or that I was feeling down all the time or other problems....
damn I'm learning so much here. The doctor at Planned Parenthood didn't want to give me prog at first because I tested very high at 325
TBC, plenty of non-UCSF doctors run the same game on trans men: 350 is in male reference range, doesn't matter if you're menstruating + hot flashes + barely masculinizing, T is a dangerous steroid and we refuse to overprescribe 😇 But yeah, these specific guidelines do it to tfem and not to tmasc.
This is why i go to a very specific endo not even in state for my HRT because they don't listen to SOC. I pay fees to be an out of state patient, as they keep me at 400-450 E and they consider that to be normal levels. They don't get concerned till I go over 500+. I feel amazing and full of energy!
thank you bookmarking. keywords: estrogen levels trans transgender
That's so messed up, I'm glad my endo is trans and is prescribing enough so I'm consistently around 400pg/ml
so that's why i'm constantly tired perhaps 😬
So what's that in pmol/L?
