May I recommend to you THE OTHER 1972? This is among the first horror films I saw (probably around 1974 when I was 7). It freaked me out enough that I was forever freaked out when I’d go into my grandpa’s barn, especially when swinging on the rope in the hayloft, paranoid I’d fall on a pitchfork
